ACUPUNCTURE

Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, acupuncture services have been placed on hold. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Bulk billed acupuncture for Medicare card holders are provided by Dr Dong Hua.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain.

Needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body's own internal regulating system.

Acupuncture can be used to treat:

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Muscle cramps, aches and spasms

  • Arthritis

  • Back, neck and other joint pain

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Insomnia

  • Depression

  • Nausea

  • Overcoming certain addictions such as smoking, alcohol and drugs

  • Fibromyalgia and more
